I am proud to announce that I have filed my nomination petitions for re-election to District 3 of the Linn County Board of Supervisors! District 3 is a majority of the northeast side of Cedar Rapids. Below is my press release.
Linn County Supervisor Ben Rogers filed his nomination petitions for re-election to the Linn County Board of Supervisors on March 14, 2016. Supervisor Rogers is this year’s chair of the Board of Supervisors and represents District 3, which is a majority of the northeast side of Cedar Rapids. Supervisor Rogers resides in Cedar Rapids with his wife, Andrea and step-son Kieran. He and his wife are expecting their first child together in early August.
Supervisor Rogers is a passionate advocate and leader on behalf of individuals with mental health challenges and disabilities. Rogers has championed services that help those with mental health challenges and disabilities achieve greater independence and inclusion into the community.
“I continue to work hard to ensure that Linn County residents with mental health and disability challenges have the services they need to achieve greater independence and higher quality of lives. The fabric of our community is strengthened when citizens can engage more fully within the community”, Rogers stated.
Rogers is running for re-election on his record of fiscal responsibility, improving the business of government by implementing business practices to make government more lean, effective and efficient and making Linn County a great place to live, work and play through quality of life initiatives.
“Your county taxes are lower today than when I was first elected. I am leading a county government-wide initiative to make Linn County more lean, effective and efficient with your hard-earned tax dollars and I will work to continue to maintain Linn County’s award-winning Aaa bond rating” Rogers stated.
